Students can choose a 55-week daytime schedule or an 86-week evening schedule.
The school also offers programs in esthetics, barbering, massage therapy, instruction, and makeup artistry.
The Institute aims to teach students the practical skills of becoming a cosmetologist and how to market themselves as beauty professionals and run their own businesses. Students have full access to customers in the on-campus student salon, allowing them to practice their skills in a real-world environment.
Students rave about the school's cosmetology program, as seen in this glowing review from alumnus Josh S.: "Kindly send my sincere gratitude to Avalon School of Cosmetology. I would like to say it publicly because Avalon is really good at teaching their students to be the best that they can. Their hands on practice or practical review using their equipment are the trainings which I liked most. I have learned a lot of things pertaining to hair designing and cutting. You are amazing and you deserve 5 stars!"
